The winning in competition let us for making the project of expansion one of the most modern medical centre in Poland. The main idea of this project was expansion by adding three hospital wing shaped C and combined it with a glass atrium.
The functional plan contains:
· ambulatory with back office,
· laboratories with study of the temporal bone, genetic laboratory and biochemical laboratory,
· surgical suite – 4 operating theatre,
· 3 bed wards – 85 beds,
· Implantology Ward with hearing and speech room,
· conference facility – 3 conference room, scientific room and hotel,
· administration.
Information about this project was published in Gazeta Wyborcza. There was wrote:
“The International Centre of Hearing and Speech in Kajetany which was opened in may 2012 is a unique place – first from this type on the international medical market. This investment plays an important role in development of science and explore new ways to diagnose and treat defect of the senses. The centre is both the modern hospital providing medical services on the global level, equipped in unique medical equipment with large technical facilities and well-prepared educational centre conducting extensive research and education letting for training specialist not only from medicine, but also clinical engineering and speech therapy.
In the first year in The International Centre of Hearing and Speech was done more than 18 thousands medical procedures and granted more than 200 thousands medical services. Daily there was about 70 operations of improving hearing, what is the great amount on the world in the fields of otolaryngology, audiology and phoniatrics.”
